We walked around the Frasier Fir lot looking for the perfect tree. As soon as we found one, it was tagged as SOLD! Not just SOLD, but SOLD to someone from Illinois!!! What the heck?! We moved on, wondering why someone from Illinois would tag a tree and not take it with them (we later found out if you go to pick pumpkins at their pumpkin patch in October, you can pre-tag your tree and then come back to get it!) After finding 3 perfect trees, all being SOLD, we finally found one where we started.
Jason posed for me, as he does against his will every year. He is never really happy about pictures in the first place, but he grins and bears it for the picture/scrapbook lady (the picture queen would be his mom - she has a camera more than I do and that's saying a lot since I always have mine on me!). Next it was mine and the little man's turn for a picture.
Jacob looked cold by the time we picked out our tree, but he was being a good sport and never fussed about it. You can tell his little nose is red too. After taking this picture, Jacob had to check out the tree for himself (even though he couldn't feel it with his gloves on) :)
He wanted to continue to play with it, until he heard the goats over yonder and decided he liked them more. Yes, Butler Tree Farm has a petting zoo with Pygmy Goats, Miniature Horses, Belgian Draft horses, Llamas, Miniature Donkeys, Hound dogs, and even chickens (although petting the chickens would not be the smartest thing - Jacob laughed when they crackled at him though). Jacob especially liked the huge Draft horse. I'm laughing in this picture because he is laughing hysterically since the horse just neighed at him!!
What was really cute was the baby Llama that had been born on September 11 of this year. She was so cute and looked snuggly. They weren't really interested in playing since they were eating, and got kind of nasty when you wanted to pet them so we stayed clear.
We moved on to the Hound Dogs, Clint and Sam. Jacob got the biggest kick out of these two. They are really into visitors and howl like crazy if you don't pay attention to them. Unfortunately Jason was tending to the tree so no pictures of the crazy duo.
After about an hour, it was time to head home. Nothing would be cuter than a picture of our little one passed out because of the long and tiring trip!
Merry Christmas!!
