Unwanted visit...

Jacob has been down with a virus since last Wednesday. He woke up Wednesday night screaming because he had gotten sick. He was not feeling well Thursday (which who could blame the little guy) and even Friday and Saturday he wasn't himself but at least he wasn't getting sick. He wasn't drinking all that much, but at least he would eat some Cheerios here and there. Then on Sunday he got sick all over Jason while at Easter dinner, and then again Monday evening and then again on Tuesday afternoon. He wasn't hardly drinking anything on any three of those days so we decided to take him to the doctor's last night. After getting checked out (which he is so good at doctor's visits), the doctor said he had a moderate ear infection in his right ear and was moderately to severely dehydrated and that we needed to visit the ER. So over to Memorial we went to get an IV (that was at 6:45). After the IV was in him he perked up almost immediately but we almost ended up spending the night because he wouldn't drink any fluids (we found out it was that he didn't like the hospital bottle and wanted his own). After the switch to his bottle, he drank 7 ounces and we got the go ahead to get discharged so we were very thankful we didn't have to spend the night. Jacob was such a trooper through the whole thing especially since he hasn't been getting much sleep in the past week. Today he is doing MUCH MUCH better and seems to be back to his old self. He drank his whole bottle this morning (7 ounces) without a fight and laid down for a nap like he normally does (but hasn't since last Wednesday). We're just glad he's back to normal (at least what seems to be normal).
