Valentine's Day Dinner

Valentine's Day has never been a heavily celebrated holiday in our household. Jason and I have never 'gone all out' and gotten gifts for each other. Our first Valentine's Day together, Jason said he was not going to get me anything except for a card since he didn't need one day out of the entire year to tell me he loved me (insert "awwww" here). So it has been a holding tradition that we don't buy gifts and as of this year, we were not going to buy cards either, until he mentioned the night before that he had purchased something small. For some wonderful reason though, my husband is unpredictable and I came home Sunday morning to a little box and card (so against the previous set rules). So I open my little box and inside was a small present...an Apple iPod Shuffle. At this point I'm shocked that our once non-existant holiday is somehow bigger than 'just a card' and then I was jumping up and down inside since I seemed to be the only person in the world that did not own an iPod before today. So now I can catch up with the rest of the world and enjoy music on an iPod. Whatever did everyone do without one!

Since I did not have anything for Jason, I made a yummy dinner of some of his favorites. We had homemade stuffed mushrooms as an appitizer and then for dinner, meatloaf (in the shape of a heart - taken from the creative mind of my friend Stephanie from church), Italian potatoes and green beans. It sure was tasty and even Jacob chowed down on everything!
