A rare find....

On our semi-annual trip up north to visit my girlfriend and her family, she found an awesome new place for us to visit.  It just opened this summer and was certainly a hit with the kids.  They had many kinds of rare animals from the deer/antelope/buffalo families and some petting zoo type animals too.

Then there was this guy, who freaked Jacob out at first, but he came around after he knew he wouldn't bite him.

This little guy was just born THAT MORNING! How awesome is that! He and his little buddy were already up and moving around. One of the workers was holding this little guy for the kids to pet. Way too cute.

The little brown guy is a buffalo. Yep, a baby buffalo that kids could pet! Where do you get an opportunity to pet a real buffalo?!

This was the highlight of the visit for the kids.  They gave you birdseed sticks and you walked in this parakeet area, held our your stick for the birds and they went NUTS!  I mean NUTS! They flocked to whoever had a stick and you could touch them, pet them, shake them and they would not move until they were done with their little snack!

Highly recommend this place next time you are near Grand Rapids' east side (located in Alto, MI).
