A taste of Jacob's 5th Airplane Birthday

Just a taste of pictures from Jacob's 5th Airplane birthday party...

I made two cakes this year, knowing one is usually not enough for our massive family.  It took me a couple days to come up with this one.  I am still not entirely happy with how it turned out, but Jacob loved it and that is what matters.

I LOVED the second one which was a much simpler idea and was also much easier to make.  Just blue frosting, white star tip clouds and some chocolate chips for a loop-de-loop!

We chose to do subs for my peace of mind this year.  It was cheap, simple, and tasted great (I must say I very much dislike Walmart, however, the sub was REALLY good and for $28, well worth the price)!

I bought plain white plates and napkins and framed a picture of Jacob in front of a B-17 bomber at Grissom Air Force Base and placed his room decor airplanes around the food just to add a little to the food table.

For the favor bags, I did a simple (did I mention this party was simple?) blue bag and found a cloud outline I liked online, blew it up and added my own text.  I filled the bags with bubbles, foam airplanes from Oriental Trading (which I had a gift card for, so I only paid shipping), and blue curly straws that resembled loop-de-loops.

More pictures to come!
