I so ripped this off of a friend. It's a simple craft, but a little time consuming - and so worth it. I've had so many compliments on my little book pumpkin
Here's what you need:
xacto knife
cutting pad
a paperback book (Goodwill is a great place for a cheap book)
a stick a little higher than the book
glue (I used hot glue)
a piece of ribbon
some brown/orange ink (I used an ink pad)
pumpkin template (like this one)
I cut the template out and folded it in half because you'll only be cutting half the book at a time.
Remove the cover from the book and start cutting - it'll take a little while since you can only cut a few pages at a time
The pages will undoubtedly be uneven so you can trim them up if you want, but I like them a little cut up ;)
Take your ink and go over the edges of your book, lightly - you don't need to completely saturate the edges.
Take your stick and glue it to the binding of the book and then glue the edges of the end pages together to pull the pumpkin into shape.
Tie your ribbon on top and you're done.
Simple as that! :)
