Picking Peaches

Now that Jacob can do a lot of things 'by himself', I'm constantly trying to remember the fun things I did when I was a kid. So far we have picked strawberries and blueberries this year and didn't know what else we could go pick. My friend mentioned that her and her daughter had gone to pick peaches and I knew Jacob would love it. As soon as we got to the peach trees, it was instinct! He was off to fill up his little bucket. We had so much fun that Jacob didn't want to leave when we were all done. Maybe next year he will have learned to climb the trees!

Jacob was so proud of being able to pick the peaches 'all by myself' that he had to show me each peach he picked.

The first peach he tried he threw down. Expecting that he wouldn't pick another one to eat (although hoping for a photo op), I turned around a couple minutes later to find him doubled up.

He 'ate' almost 3 peaches the 20 minutes we were at the orchard (i.e. ate 1/2 of 3 peaches).

Since I'm usually the one behind the camera, I'm always thankful when we go somewhere and I have another willing and able hand to take a picture of Jacob and I.

The yummy product of our labor...fresh peach pie with homemade crust!
