Hunting for a tree

Ah.....it's that time of year again! If only winter came without the snow, except for just a couple days a year. I love the snow, just not when I have to drive in it.  We have apparently started a family tradition without knowing it.  Every since our first year of marriage, Jason and I have always gone to a different tree farm every year to get our Christmas tree.  I guess it's the trill of the hunt of where we're going to each year : )  This year we went Dudeck's Pine Farm in Rolling Prairie, IN (about 30 minutes west of South Bend).  It's a huge tree farm, complete with a little gift shop, and even a little place where Santa visits now and then.

We started off our hunt for that 'perfect' tree this year.

Of course, Jacob wanted to play behind the trees and was more interested in the snow at times...

Jacob finally found the tree he wanted though and tried to convince us it was the tree we wanted too : ) 3 year olds are so funny!

When we found our tree, he insisted on helping Jason cut it down...

And was then not so happy when daddy told him the saw was too sharp for him to help this year.

Although he couldn't help cut down the tree this year, daddy did let him help saw off the little limbs from the bottom.

Shake, shake, shake...

What's better than finding a great tree, shaking it to death, wrapping it tight and throwing it on top of the car for the ride home?  The hot cider at the end!!
