So, What do YOU do when you are 9 1/2 months pregnant? Well, you go to the zoo of course that is almost 2 hours from your doctor/hospital and walk around for 4 hours! Why would you do anything else?
It really was not bad at all. I was a little warm, but I had a water bottle, walked around fine, sat down whenever the was a bench and made it through without incident. I was quite tired by the time we were done, but that was because I missed my afternoon nap :)
Jacob, Zander and Peyton
The Hyenas were right up by the glass
The male lion is normally at the viewing window and today he did not start there, but for some reason, Jacob was peeking around trying to get a good look at him laying down around the corner and before Jacob knew what was happening, the lion had jumped up next to the viewing window!
Nothing like being separated by a few inches of glass!
The one thing I LOVE about Ft. Wayne zoo is the giraffe exhibit! I know it costs a $1 for a piece of lettuce, but it is SO worth the $1! We usually give Jacob two and he has become a pro at feeding the giraffes and gets a kick out of it every time.
This time, he even surprised me. As someone else was feeding Mystic the giraffe, Jacob reached over and started petting her :)
The boys playing with some rhythm.
Ugh, they hatched. Can we run or do we have to take them home?
The river ride
Last stop before we left was the penguins and the zoo keepers just happened to be feeding them when we walked by.
On our way out, we happened to see a male peacock with his feathers out, no biggie, we thought. It's cool to see, but we've seen it before. Then we looked a little closer and noticed momma peacock with her two babies. Now THAT is certainly not something you see every day!!
