It's amazing how much you forget after 6 years of not having a little one, but equally as amazing on how quickly it comes back! It's been a trying month, but also a blessing even in those sleepless nights. Jacob has adjusted quite well to having his sister around, although, he is not quite adjusted to not getting all the attention when people come to visit Jenna. He has been helping us with her diapers and making sure she has her pajamas at night.
Here are a few pictures of our first month with Jenna in our lives.
Poor thing with her baby acne.
First bath - she screamed as any newborn would, but she did great and was happy to be wrapped in her towel and safe in daddy's arms.
Meeting Great Grandpa Mac for the first time.
On the way to Jenna's one week doctor's visit. She does NOT like her car seat!!
Not that you could tell...
All cute in her zebra print
He still wants to hold her so that's a good sign!
All cuddled up. Now, before everyone goes crazy about her sleeping on her face, I assure you she is perfectly fine. She can pick up her head (yes, even at a week old) and move it from side to side. Jacob was the same way when he was little. They have strong little neck muscles. Jason and I both slept on our faces (the 'fad' at the time 30-40 years ago) and we both survived.
So many things in this picture...Daddy is completely amused with himself (LOL), Jenna is NOT impressed with daddy's funny faces, Jacob is and yes, Jacob has a mohawk. I was not thrilled with the idea of a mohawk, BUT it IS summer and hair DOES grow back. Plus, I knew it would be getting shaved off a week later because we were getting Jenna's newborn pictures taken, so no worries!
All dressed up for shopping day with mommy. Our friend Kelly got her the headband and socks :)
Dressed up for Amish Country! She did not seem to be impressed with the idea of Das Dutchman Essenhaus (LOVE the buffet) or Rise and Roll (best donuts within 40 miles of South Bend!).
First week at church in her cute little dress. It is so fun to dress little girls.
Ah, a bath where we don't yell and scream :)
Spending more and more time awake.
At the end of a month, she's enjoying smiling at everyone now! It's so fun when your little one starts to interact with you!! Can't believe it's almost been a month already with our little sweet pea!
