Oh Savannah, deep south Savannah. As I've said before, I'm a nerd for old buildings and Savannah has them! We decided to do the Trolley Tour instead of walking around. Walking with a 3 year old in the stroller just did not sound entertaining. We chose the Old Town Trolley Tours. Some of the pics are not that great as I was taking them from the trolley, but thankfully I have a new Canon Rebel XTI with a wonderful zoom lens with a stabilizer and that does help!
Independent Presbyterian Church
Jacob asked us what this was so I had to snap a quick picture!
"Something to Talk About" with Julia Roberts and Dennis Quaid was filmed here.
This is next door to Six Pence Pub and we were told that an Arabian Prince visited here
Oak tree with spanish moss near Forsyth Park
Forsyth Park - a great stop. There was a playground area south of the fountain that the kids played at for about 30 minutes to run off some energy. The park is quite big and even though there were a number of people about, it was a peaceful walk.
Little Miss NOT wanting her picture taken by the fountain
The boys in front of the Forsyth Fountain
Cathedral of St. John
Not sure exactly what these were but we could see them when we walked out on Bay St. by City Hall.
Washington Guns in front of the Cotton Exchange
Cotton Exchange - we were told this was one of two places in the world at the time that would set the cotton prices. The other was in London.
Fun Fact: Scenes from Forest Gump were filmed in Savannah. The famous bus stop scene was filmed in Chippewa Square. One of the shops on River St. had this bench with the suitcase and a box of chocolates. Photo Opp :)
