Goodbye winter!

February and March always seem like incredibly dull months.  It's too cold to go outside, sometimes there is snow, sometimes there is not, you are stuck inside without a whole lot of sunlight and you are just about to go stir crazy when......SPRING ARRIVES!!!! I love spring.  I love the idea of the earth coming back to life and seeing all the green, but most of all....THE SUN!! Oh, how I have missed that wonderful, bright, round thing in the sky.  We get to get out of the house a little more, clothes are not as heavy, and that fresh breath of spring air just clears the wintery blah right out of you!

Jacob, I and some friends ventured out into the still kind of bittery weather to the Sugar Camp days at a park close to us.  It showcased tapped Maple trees, horse carriage rides and yummy maple syrup!  The kids had a blast learning about how the syrup was made, but it wasn't as interesting to them when they found out there was popcorn and a playground.  You then could ask what we just went to see and not one answer was about maple syrup.  Maybe next year....Here's some pictures from our trip:

Our ride.

The blacksmith making crosses for onlookers.

Listening to how maple syrup is made.

This guy was amazing!  He carves bowls and trays out of wood and the end results are beyond breathtaking.

Playing with some colonial toys.

Helping make a chair.

What they REALLY wanted to do from when we arrived.
